Serving Children & Families
All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. - Isaiah 54:13
Do you have a heart for empowering, connecting, and supporting children and families in need? St. Francis provides on-going and/or intermittent opportunities to serve those in need, either in a coordinated effort or on your own.
(If no opportunities are shown below, check back again as new opportunities are made available throughout the year.)
Adopt a Family
You are invited to help St. Francis provide clothing, food, and gifts to families in need. These families are identified through Alliance for Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Union County’s children and families.
Easter “Adopt a Family” - now through April 6
During our Easter “Adopt a Family” Outreach, we will provide grocery store gift cards toward an Easter dinner for each family; Easter baskets and clothing for each child; and a Bible for each family. Taking part is easy: Select (from the Easter tree in the Sanctuary) one or more Easter eggs that list the item(s) you wish to purchase on behalf of these families. If you choose the egg for Easter basket “stuffers” (think Christmas stocking stuffers), be creative! If you choose to purchase candy for the basket, please remember to choose candy with NO NUTS! The items are due back to St. Francis by April 6. The filled baskets will then be given to Alliance for Children for delivery.
Christmas “Adopt a Family” - Coming in Advent
Similarly, during our Christmas “Adopt a Family” Outreach, we will provide grocery store gift cards toward a Christmas dinner for each family; Christmas gifts and clothing for each child; and a Bible for each family.
